Let me ask you something; have you ever felt overwhelmed?
Overwhelmed by military life, overwhelmed by parenthood, overwhelmed by finances?
Yeah, me too. The truth is; I know you, I am you. I've been where you are, and some days I'm still there- just trying to figure it out.
You don't need to be perfect. In fact, military life, parenting, and budgeting takes a lot of trial and error. We learn as we go, and we are always learning something new. There are always new challenges that arise, and with new challenges come new solutions.
I'm here to make it easier for you.
Almost two years ago I was getting ready to give birth to my son. I was saying goodbye to my husband at the airport and sending him off to basic training.
A year ago I didn't know how we would pay our bills. I didn't know how we would get by on a low ranking military salary. I didn't know how to afford to stay home with our son, or how to afford day care if I had to go back to work.
I didn't know how to create my own PCS proof, work-at-home business.
But I conquered it.
I gave birth to my amazing son while my husband was at basic. He came home from tech school when our son was about 3 months old.
I learned how to budget, cut our spending, and use our resources to save money.
I built a work-at-home business that allows me to stay home with my son and earn an income regardless of where we are located. One that has allowed us to start paying off our debt and start getting ahead financially.
(BTW, did you know that 26% of military spouses experience unemployment issues? Crazy, right?!)
I'm not perfect.
I'm still learning. I'm still new at military life, I'm still new at being a mom, I'm still working on paying off our debt.
The thing is, there is always something new to conquer in each of those areas.
Maybe it's a not-so-awesome duty station or particularly hard deployment.
Maybe it's a new behavior problem (that has probably arose after your husband left for deployment, right? I told you, I know you.)
Maybe it's an unexpected expense that popped up right when you thought you were getting ahead.
Whatever it is, I'm here. I'm experiencing it, I'm learning and coming up with solutions for you.
You are my priority.

You are not in this alone.
I am here for you, every step of the way. I know it's hard to make friends and to feel like you belong. I know it's hard to miss your husband, it's hard to worry all the time.
It really is.
Not just military life, not just parenting, not just budgeting. But all of it together. The stress, the anxiety, the mix of emotions; it's unbelievably draining.
I know because I, too, am exhausted. But I also know how it feels to have those little victories, the ones that make it all worth it.
I know that first kiss when your husband comes home.
I know the pride when your kid succeeds at something they are struggling with.
I know how exciting it is to have money left over at the end of the month or being able to pay off a credit card that has been hanging over your head.
I want that for you, and more. I want to help you conquer everything that life throws at you. Every new challenge, every new struggle.
